Each year, the few thousand remaining Olive Ridley Turtles return to the same Central American beaches to lay their eggs on shore. As they swim toward land, the females are hunted by villagers after a small patch of leather on their bellies. The leather is used to make high-fashion products popular in Japan. Please use U.S. economic clout at the upcoming OAS summit to pressure Central American governments into outlawing this brutal practice.
